My First Blogapalooza Experience

I was just new to blogging when I first heard about Blogapalooza. It was my friend, a fashion blogger who told me about the grandeur of this exclusive gathering of bloggers (back then there were still no influencers and creators) with perks and freebies from select brands and talks from renowned bloggers and experts in fields highly relevant to blogging.

Fast forward to 2018, 6 years after, and on my 6th month as Legendarcy, I was one of the Sox Bloggers who were accepted as participants for the 2018 edition of Blogapalooza.

Hosted by Janelle Tee, who is a social media influencer herself, the recently concluded Blogapalooza connecteD was headlined by famous microinfluencers, celebrities and experts to share about the in and outs of blogging, social media marketing, and the concept of influencer marketing itself.

Celebrity Headliners

Youtube creators Jamill, Viy Cortez (Cong TV's girlfriend) and Emman Nimedez were the first to come up the stage and talked about their experience in vlogging, from its basics to monetizing content when it reaches its peak reach and following. Of course, aside from the tips and tricks and technicalities in content creation, they also shared about how they have handled "bashers" and maintain their focus despite the many ups and downs of being internet celebrities.

Other celebrities were also there to share not only about bridging the gap between mainstream and social media, but also adapting to audiences of varied generations and age groups. Ms. Tintin Bersola, well known ABS-CBN reporter, who will be launching her Youtube Channel on her birthday this year, showed us how she transitioned from TV to the internet. Well, she isn't really new to the platform since during her news anchor days, she had already began using the internet as medium for teaching and sharing knowledge about motherhood and financial literacy.

On the other hand, local TV personalities Nadia Montenegro and Erika Padilla; pageant queens Matmat Centino, Rui Mariano and Francine Garcia, answered a lot of questions about the responsible use of the internet.

The Peak of the Internet Age in Marketing

As someone who works in the field of advertising, I already have a lot of knowledge and experience about its technicalities. But, naturally, as the internet is something that is constantly evolving, you need to update yourself from time to time. Great thing that Blogapalooza have invited marketing experts Miko David and Nix Eniego. A plethora of tools, tips and tricks were given by the panelists to raise our a-game when it comes to analytics, influencer marketing and Instagram to make us more marketable to brands and companies that are looking for social media influencers for their marketing initiatives.

Connecting Businesses to Influencers

One of the main objectives of Blogapalooza is to bring together businesses and influencers to collaborate. This was one of the most fun part of the event since we were able to talk to their representatives and strike deals and partnerships to help each other when it comes to marketing and promotion. Aside from the venue partnet, City of Dreams Manila and official airline, Philippines Airlines, there were a lot of exhibitors that range from e-commerce, travel, food, real estate and a whole lot more.

One, Big Blogafam

Lastly, the most important thing that Blogapalooza connecteD has taught me is to make new friends and experience the warm welcome of the "Blogafam". Indeed, the delegation has become one, big family. From strangers, blogger, vloggers and influencers from different parts of the Philippines have made a connection that's would last beyond the few hours that we have spent together, going to the beat of what Blogapalooza wants to accomplish, to elevate influence for the years to come.

Shoutout to the Norte, Cebu and the Blogapalooza connecteD team; our Blogafam, for the warm welcome and for the friendship. Until the next Blogapalooza.
