Ronald McDonald House of Charities Philippines, Inc. Turns over Bahay Bulilit Learning Center to Barangay Labangal in General Santos City

A small house full of big dreams

It's my first time to learn about Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center, one of 3 main initiatives by Ronald McDonald House Charities Philippines, the Philippine chapter of a global organization aiming to make a difference in the lives of Filipino children through programs that support their need for shelter, education and happiness.

GenSan, the most populous city in Region XII is the newest recipient of this awesome initiative by RMHC, wherein the newest Bahay Bulilit Learning Center was built through the help of LGU GenSan, DSWD and its main sponsor, McDonalds Philippines.

Did you know, that a portion of every Happy Meal goes to these initiatives? Aside from that, there are also may channels to donate and support these programs when going to McDonalds stores and even using their apps.

A happy child, a happy parent

In this day care center, children 3 to 4 years old are taught basic skills in preparation for formal schooling. Accredited social workers and community volunteers facilitate lessons and group activities for the children to learn while playing. The facility, which is fully equipped with washrooms, kitchen and activity areas can house up to 60 learners every school year.

Being built near the vicinity of McDonalds stores, the center would be taken cared of and checked from time to time for a more sustainable partnership.

This would definitely be not the last, since GenSan is a very populous city and RMHC is more than willing to partner with more stakeholders to provide more Bahay Bulilit Centers in the coming years, as they aim to build at least 100 centers in 2028.
