Mobile Legends

One of the latest gaming craze that's currently hitting the Philippines and other countries by storm is Mobile Legends. It is a 5 vs. 5 Multiplayer Online Battle Arena game or MOBA for short. If you love League of Legends, DoTA 2 and Heroes of Newearth, you will surely get hooked in this game.
The big difference of this MOBA from its predecessors is that you can play it on the go since it is a mobile game. You just have to download the app on your smartphone and have a wifi or data connection to play. Gameplay is also easy since it have all the MOBA characteristice including the map, skills and more.

The game was developed and published by Moonton, a Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia-based company whose claim to fame is only Mobile Legends. They published the game for iOS platforms in 2015 and just recently (July 14, 2016) in the google play store for Android OS devices. The game is included in the top 1% with 40 million installs in google play store alone.

Being a MOBA, one of the most obvious feature of the game is the abundance of "Heroes". The playing style of playable heroes are quite similar with the ones we know and love from older MOBAs (Miya = Drow Ranger, Sun = Monkey King, Franco = Pudge, Akai = Pandaren Brewmaster),  with an addition of unique ones that also somewhat in reference to pop culture icons (e.g. Fanny, Attack on Titan; Bruno, Neymar). Currently, there are 36 heroes but not all of them are available for all players. There are random, free playable characters that players can choose from every game, with the inclusions of purchased characters that can be purchased using in game currency or via cash. Purchased characters are playable anytime.

I have just recently started playing and I'm enjoying it so far. My role is still Mage, Support or both and my favorite characters are Estes, Nana and Miya.

Estes is support, Nana is mage-type while Miya is a marksman. Estes is the one I love using the most because he recovers hp fast due to his healing skills and his special skill, which comes very handy when you're under siege by 2 or more enemy players, is not only high in damage, but also replinishes your hp big time. Playing support has also become really easy since you don't have to buy courier and ward (which I really hate the most). You can focus on healing and supporting your allies in battle and your assists are counted when your ally kills your target.

There is still a long way ahead for this game but so far, it has captured the hearts of many gamers, including hardcore PC games enthusiasts, because of its portability and very easy gameplay.
